Wagon Planter

I love the color red and love seeing every day items used in the garden in new ways. I have always wanted a little red wagon to use as a planter and was beyond excited when I found one at a garage sale for $3!

 This gem had definitely been sitting in the yard for a while, with it's rust, broken wood panels and a black widow living in the handle. I'm sure it was over looked by many people that had passed by that day but as soon as I spotted it I was trying to figure out how we were going to get it back to the house. My little sister was such a good sport, letting the wagon rest on her lap in the car while we finished up our day, knowing how excited I was about it. 

 When I got it home I used a nail and hammer to make some drainage holes in the bottom because I don't have a drill strong enough to do it. Then I wheeled it into my front flower bed, added potting soil and a variety of plants, gave them a good drink and stepped back and smiled. I love the color and height it adds to the front of our house and can't wait until the flowers fill in and spill over the sides.

For Cassity

Our family was recently blessed with a new addition in the form of a niece to James and I and a new cousin for Scarlett and Taylor, Miss Cassity Anne. The kids and I went and paid her a visit a few days after she was born and it's amazing how holding a newborn makes your little ones seem not so little anymore. She is beautiful and perfect and Scarlett is super excited to have another cousin.

 As a welcome into the world gift, I found her these adorable pink cowboy boots that I couldn't pass up. I LOVE LOVE LOVE baby cowgirl clothes!

 To go along with the boots I made Cassity and her big sister Kaylee matching pink and white striped skirts that they can be sassy together in.

I'm so excited there is another little Adams kid to join the clan. We love you Cassity!

Pancake Art



We have pancakes for breakfast a few times a week here and the kids love when I get creative with them. I have always stuck with your basic shapes, not even knowing there was a world of fantastic pancake artists out there. I was especially impressed by these of the Cheshire Cat and the Cat in the Hat, they are so beautiful I don't know how you could eat them!

 Then while I was looking for pancake inspiration I ran across this toilet that I wouldn't want to eat but for a whole other reason. Very creative though!

And these caterpillars seem very doable, I love their little faces!

  So with my new found ideas I made James a special plate of pancakes that he gobbled up, some snakes for the kids along with their initials and experimented with some new shapes.

I don't have any fancy pancake tools but the kids still liked my attempt at a Mickey head, a flower and a star. Maybe one of these days I will pick up a few tools to make our pancakes a little wilder but for now these will do.

Two Ladies

I was so excited when my neighbor came to me and asked me to do a painting for her grandma's house. She had a picture in mind and after visiting her home and seeing where the painting would go, I got to work. I haven't taken the time to sit down and paint in a while so I had a lot of fun working on this project.

I was so happy to be there when she gave the painting to her grandma and the look on her face when she saw it was heartwarming. I'm so honored that she will be hanging it in her home and for the opportunity to do the painting.
